there wasn't one. there was no strategy. there was no interest. it was all "they'll never overturn it" and calling that good.

dems lament "we don't have the votes" for things they don't actually support and at times even vocally oppose them. how the fuck are we supposed to GET the votes over time in this situation? it falls out of the air like magic? the arc of the universe just bends that way out of nowhere one day?

GOP have fought year after year, decade after decade, for things that should have been 'impossible' and were and are unpopular the whole time.

for the public option, the supposedly popular alternative to M4A that we were told we should support instead, dems... never mention it again. hm!
