I agree they shouldn't apologize, but with how internet fan bases can be, a lot of creators will post that apology because of the parasocial relationship sponsors rely upon to generate money from that channel sponsorship. If they don't, it could harm their relationship with their fan base/money.

If they do anything, they'd more than likely make an apology video, promise to vet their sponsors more carefully, and maybe make a donation to some charity.

Fun fact relating to the CMC, during the bay of pigs invasion that preceded it, three crewmen from the 116th ANG unit in Birmingham were recruited by the CIA to fly B-26's since their unit had just transitioned out of them. The mission was planned at the airport inn a couple blocks from the airport.
