Sound functions as waves and can be redirected as such. It's also amazing how energy can be dispersed as sound. Compare opening a door+knob slowly versus quickly.

The Bride's episode had me feeling all kinds of ways. She really went through it and is continuing to go through it.

The giant Snorlax is softer than the giant Pikachu. But the Pikachu tend to have less smushed faces. The design seems to translate better.
