Who are they?

All of this just seems like selective outrage to me just saying

The point is to slowly weaken its grip so Venezuelans themselves can push it over without a war
January 3, 2026 at 11:01 PM
Youre correct, the people with guns are still a huge problem and there won't be a US invasion. The strategy is to squeeze the regime dry, cut off its money, legally target its leaders, and try to split the army from the inside
January 3, 2026 at 11:01 PM
The real measure won't be this week's turmoil, but whether this disruption finally breaks the long standing stalemate that kept Venezuelans from choosing their own path
January 3, 2026 at 10:50 PM
You’re correct that that the old guard is still visible in Caracas, which shows this isn't an instant, clean transfer. However, real regime change begins with the transfer of ultimate sovereignty, the power to direct the state's future, and that authority has decisively shifted
January 3, 2026 at 10:50 PM
This isn't a magic fix, it's a volatile first step in a process that was completely stalled. The real test won't be this week, but whether this can finally create a path for Venezuelans to decide their own future without fear of the dictator

You're right that the streets aren't suddenly free and the work ahead is massive. But for the families celebrating in Miami, this is about something they lost long ago, a sense of justice and the possibility of a different future
January 3, 2026 at 9:32 PM
Same. But if we hadn’t fought against the axis powers back in WWII, I don’t think we would’ve existed and that there won’t be freedom in Europe, the US, and other continents ❤️‍🩹

Refusing to support them because a bad leader might try to steal the outcome isn't neutrality, it's leaving them alone against Maduro
January 3, 2026 at 8:22 PM
You're right to distrust Trump's motives, he's the same man who was hesitant to release the Epstein's files and would absolutely exploit this for profit. But this isn't about him. It's about whether we abandon a people who are fighting for their own freedom against a dictator
January 3, 2026 at 8:21 PM
You're right, our history is full of failures. But we're not talking about sending troops, we're talking about using pressure and diplomacy to support people who are already suffering under a bad government. Standing by and doing nothing while they suffer is a choice, too, and it has real victims
January 3, 2026 at 8:18 PM
We can agree to disagree Sam Feurer 🤝
January 3, 2026 at 8:00 PM
This is about pressure so Venezuelans can build their own future, not us building it for them
January 3, 2026 at 7:53 PM
Fair question. The difference is we're not invading or installing a ruler. We're backing their own recognized interim government and supporting regional diplomacy. The “mistake” was thinking we could build a nation from the ground up
January 3, 2026 at 7:53 PM
That is a fair point about Iraq. We should never repeat that mistake. But the wish for change in Venezuela isn't coming from us. It's coming from Venezuelans who have suffered for years. The real challenge is how to stand with them without making things worse
January 3, 2026 at 7:47 PM
I agree, but sometimes in order to achieve peace you have to fight for it. We learned this the hard way in WWII
January 3, 2026 at 5:41 PM
Plus they captured the dictator Maduro and his wife, and now the Venezuelans in Miami are cheering
January 3, 2026 at 5:12 PM
They only bombed the military bases and the private airport, the civilians are okay Lanie
