While nice in theory, homelessness is a problem with many nuances : elders, drug addicts, people falling behind on their financial obligations, broken people, etc. There is no one size fits all solution.

And, as a sidenote, I think social media is a generational product, in the sense that as generations shift, new platforms become popular because kids want to be where their parents aren't. So the best time to make a new one is in a generational shift.

I think it's because it's relatively new and not very corporate (yet). Threads is basically twitter for normies with the most milquetoast content. Meta products are very tightly controlled and people really hate Elon Musk for whatever reason, so it really appeals to that middle niche.

If I look at it for another angle, the customers aren't regular people. The customers are investors, which is why the hype levels are through the roof. It does an okay job, but you definitely have to babysit it. It's pretty good at conversation, though!

I received something to eat and water and convinced me that the time for my cause is due and that it will not happen. I thought I was going to get a beating sister to death from the grueling screams I would hear from time to time, but I got off easily. They even paid for my train ticket home.

All my items on me were confiscated, and I was put in a cell with a few other protesters and held there for about 24 hours until I was interrogated. Once the officer interrogating me realized that I have no foreign or political affiliations and that I am cooperative, things became a lot smoother.

I'm not american, but your words ring true! The uncertainty of it all during the waiting period is grueling. When a protest I was at turned violent out of nowhere, I surrendered myself immediately with my hands up when I saw a police officer try to charge me.
