Oh crap I was the one who made that mockup! Yeah I think it really is the title screen, it's sourced from Sega Taikan Special LD but once you put a coin in it's nigh identical to GF2's, minus the II. Every clip of GF1 that I've seen shows someone who already coined the machine so we'll never know :(
