I pulled out the glass thermos to give these twigs plenty of space. What a delightful cuppa. Bright, fresh mouthfeel and a wonderfully subtle taste. From #white2tea 's August tea club. The wee bundles were super cute and really helped for handling.

Yet for all these spectacular and significant changes, has there been a corresponding shift in the hearts and minds and souls of ordinary people, of the everyday meet-in-the-street population of Aotearoa new Zealand? Is it happening in the collective national consciousness? How deep, how genuine, how enduring is the change? We must take nothing for granted. Reality can shift, just like that, and turn itself around, with enough pressure and intensity and purpose from the other side. The haters and homophones, the racists and the self-righteous, the passionate champions of patriarchy: they are pushing hard. We can't let them in. We mustn't let them win.
