A second point a lot of people are also glossing over, FromSoftware is already partially Sony and Tencent owned. Not sure how that works in Japan but if Sony bought Kadokawa they might also have to buy the Tencent share for full control.

Kadokawa just confirmed they got a letter from Sony but haven't stated if they'll accept or refuse unless there is more news today I've missed.
