Day 17

Earlier this year I discovered Matt Dinniman and Dungeon Crawler Carl. And although I have only had time to read the first book, the entire series is now on my list to eventually get to. Highly recommend.

Day 16 (missed yesterday.)

Tolkien elves are definitely my favorite, and my own took a lot of inspiration from them. Then I added a much heavier emphasis on magic in their culture, both arcane and druidic.

Day 15

Overall it was a good year, but I did have a lot of long stretches of depression. It kept me from wanting to work on anything or even fill out these prompts.

Day 10

I have a few books that I have not yet had time to really start so I will not be finishing them by the end of the year. But early next year I hope to finally get around to Stormlight 5, amd then maybe I can work my way through the rest of the list once it is done.

Day 8!

My wip seasons are the normal seasons, and fall in the same order, with the only differences being that winter starts two weeks earlier and ends between two weeks to a month later.

Day 7

I think most of my characters would be on the nice list. A lot of them are more morally grey but do tend to do the right thing wherever they can.

Day 4

For every Christmas I like to pour a gallon of apple cider into a pot, and add a whole bag of hard cinnamon candy. Put it over a medium or so heat and stir until all of the candy is melted and you have a very easy and delicious cider to enjoy while reading.

Day 2

The mid-point of each season is celebrated in human culture, with winter being the biggest. The elves celebrate the solstices, and throw a huge celebration/memorial for the princesses birthday. Dwarves throw a party on the anniversary of each kings death.

Day 26!

I have yet to come up with any book titles. It's one thing that has eluded me and I am hoping that some inspiration pops up as I continue to write.

Day 24!

I cannot write without music. Without some kind of background noise I can't fully focus, and anything other than music distracts me. So I listen to whatever has my attention currently, or anything that fits the current theme.

Day 23!

Imposter syndrome is not something I have had to deal with yet, so I have no advice today.

Day 20! (Catching up.)

I get a lot of inspiration from my friends. They all encourage me daily and get more excited than I do when I discuss what I'm working on. So I keep working on it to not let them down.

Day 19!

I'd day motivation is the biggest challenge for me. As much as I always want to work on it, some night I just don't have to energy to do so. So it occasionally goes untouched for a few days at a time, but I at least try to use downtime to think about the next step.

Day 18!

Favorite character is easily Alira. She is so fun to write and every scene with her is a joy to reread when I'm looking for mistakes. A close second is Leon, since every scene is either building more mystery and intrigue, or a fight.

Day 17!

Biggest hobby is writing, obviously. Other than that, recently I like drawing (mostly maps and such) and painting figures.

Day 16!

Plotter, definitely. Other methods do not work for me, so I have to thoroughly plan as many details as I can.

Free friday baby Makoto.

Day 13

I have a small side room with a tiny old bar in the corner. I like to sit there on one of the stools while I write. It is usually a bit quieter than the rest of the house and I can watch the traffic going by the house. It's quite relaxing.

Day 11!

I read a little of everything, but mostly fantasy. And so far I only write fantasy, but have plans for eventual sci-fi and one cyberpunk/fantasy hybrid.

Day 10!

My favorite so far is something along the lines of "Happiness is an everyday battle of consistency." In context of someone talking to a friend who is at her lowest point and trying to get her to remember to not let it swallow her.

Day 7!

I try to use free friday to share pictures of my cat, Makoto. But she is also what helps me to relax, so it works for both options this time.

Day 6!

Wonderdraft is a great tool for anyone who needs to make a map of anything.
Other than that, if YouTube counts, I use it for music every time I need to prep or write.

Day 5!

My current read has been Stormlight Archive 5 for about a year now. I haven't had as much time as I would like to read it and it is way too big. So I'm going to consider it my next read too because I will not be finished for a while.

Day 3!

I don't have a single playlist that I use for writing. I tend to bounce between soundtracks for different things depending on what I need for that moment.
