To the schmoe who blocked me - nice chatting with you. But you're wrong. If a foreman doesn't hire a union member because of economics etc and the job is taken by an illegal then yes they have taken a job. If you can't hire illegals, then the work will still go on and a U.M. is hired. Easy.

If you want to obfuscate and say the foreman who isn't hiring union members isn't equally at fault I don't have a problem agreeing, but if there weren't illegals to hire then I think it's safe to say construction etc would still go on - only those jobs would be taken by legal citizens.

Are they authorized to work in the US? No. Are they employed at a job that a union member could do, regardless of why a U.M. isn't being hired? Yes. Then the only logical conclusion is that a illegal getting preference over a U.M. is taking a job from someone who should have it. It is that simple

No, they would take jobs - a foreman can hire illegals or hire union members. The push to not hire union members is certainly wage driven, but regardless of that fact the illegal has been hired to work a job when they aren't legally in the country in the first place, And you say I'm dense?
