Trip to the recently reopened @filmhouseedinburgh.bsky.social today to see Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Reminded the last time I saw it on a big screen was at the reopening of the Savoy cinema in Fauldhouse - in 1971! 😱
Got fond memories of that place.
Closed again '81. Demolished '88.

Finally made it up to @pitlochryft.bsky.social yesterday to catch up with Sunshine on Leith and was delighted to see this talented bunch knock it out of the park in front of a packed house.

Celebrating the start of the Festival by trawling the local Amnesty bookshop and finding these gems. Joyce's history of @traversetheatre.bsky.social from 1988 and David Hutchison's analysis of 20th Century Scottish Theatre from 1977.
Now ready to go out and see some brand new stuff. Future history!

Since this has caught some interest - a bit more Bjork.

Bjork bouncing.

Told the kids we were going to Iceland this summer and when elder teen joked we might see Bjork, I laughed.
Landed this am. Few hours later we visited a small local record shop. Someone was playing a kicking DJ set. Guess who. 😲
Here's a photo of elder teen's ear, six feet from stardom. Incredible.

Finally got my first in-person look at Loch Avon/Loch A'an in the Cairngorms yesterday. It didn't disappoint. What an incredible place. Had it all to myself too.

Having feared we might've lost it forever, it was exciting - and quite emotional - to be at the first screening in the resurrected Filmhouse in Edinburgh this evening. Happy to discover it still feels like the old place - but better!

A memorable trip to Bo'ness last night for the opening of Sylvia Dow's impressive and moving new play Blinded By The Light at the remarkable Barony Theatre. The play is partly about the lost battle to save the local colliery in 1982 so fitting that the Kinneil Band were on hand to welcome folk in.

Public Service Broadcasting rocked at the Usher Hall last night - great visuals too.

The tree outline always reminds me of a young Martin O'Neill.

Got to add to the mountain of deserved plaudits for the magnificent Miss Austen on the BBC. Perfectly cast, brilliantly written and directed (shout out to @gibbzer.bsky.social and Aisling Walsh). Balances humour and heart-break with consumate skill. One of the best things I've watched for ages.

After all the excitement and chaos of Wednesday, I'm still struggling to get my head round the fact we'll not see Kyogo in the hoops again. 😞
But what a player. And what a job he did for us. 💚

Huge European night at Celtic Park tonight. Already twitching between excitement and nervousness. A convincing performance would be great but it's the points that really matter. COYBIG! #celticfc

A grand day out in the west. Glasgow sparkling with Xmas decorations and funfair rides. Celtic sparkling on the pitch and winning 5-0. Magic.

Cinderella definitely put the festive into the Festival Theatre last night. All the usual cheers, boo-hiss, patter and sparkle - with a load of Hibs/Hearts jokes and a song in praise of Fort Kinnaird for local interest - plus some genuinely jaw-dropping special effects. Pure Christmas magic!

An impressive array of snowmen on the Meadows this afternoon. Banana goggles was the funkiest, I think.
