Some state Democrats implored Gov. Kemp and AG Carr to use their “direct lines of communication with the administration” to speak out against the firing of 1000+ employees. So far Kemp has said he supports “right sizing”.

It was pretty wild to see the very people who have dedicated their lives to public health gathering to support current CDC employees as they left work. People were emotional. Many of them told me they believe the cuts would upend response to infectious diseases.
