RN - hospice. Knitter. Go O’s!
I can highly recommend Peace Fleece DK, Green Mountain Spinnery Mewesic and Briggs and Little Regal (available in US from maritime family fiber) as non-superwash options. Have used all of these more than once!

I like the current one better!

That’s lovely - well done!

Briggs and Little Tuffy! Wears lije iron and makes great warm and thick socks.

I think they’re cute!

I really like this monochrome look - well done! Mine is black/orange/white and languishing in the WIP basket. Should dig that out.

Sometimes I do that. Sometimes I have three pairs in progress and just pick the color that makes me happy to work on. Sometimes I do both socks from the same pair in parts - ribbing and leg on sock one, then ribbing and leg on sock two - then heels and gussets- then feet/toes.

My go to is to do all the ribbing in the odd dye lot as it won’t be as obvious if that helps.

So cute! And the little rabbit toy! Oh my, that is precious.

Thank you so much!

Ooohhh…what yarn is that, please?
August 6, 2025 at 9:39 PM
Oh well done, James! You did so well - the fit is great - you should be very proud!
August 5, 2025 at 11:56 PM
Thank you - I’ve never seen this before. What a treat!

I’m not sure what qualifies as “budget” but for durability I have found that you can’t go wrong with standards like opal and Regia. I have pairs that are years old in regular use. I do hand wash my socks but I don’t think that’s the secret to longevity.

That is gorgeous

It’s looking great! Good fit :)

Hi. Unless the pattern specifies otherwise, I pick up both legs. For socks - it’s pick up and knit both legs. That puts the “seam” on the inside.

Usually the big crowds are on Saturday. Often Sunday mornings are much less fraught. The grounds are usually muddy - boots are essential. I’ve been more than 20 times (it’s a short drive) and I’ve never had a less than stellar day there!

It’s good to have goals ;). Thanks for the chuckle!

That is gorgeous. If you alter the border I think you’d be able to use two DPN’s actually
April 21, 2025 at 1:37 AM
How many stitches on that border??????
April 21, 2025 at 1:29 AM
I think the only straight needles (not DPN’s) I own are some rather old signature needles (probably 20 years old now). I don’t remember the last time I used them!
April 21, 2025 at 1:23 AM
I think they’ve been on the market two years but could be wrong - like you, haven’t needed to buy needles for a bit but I got curious
