@captaincalliope.blue any chance you'd be interested in applying to a Google Summer of Code mentorship to find a student to help implement a baseline of FedCM in Firefox?

They just kicked off the program, and I applied for a couple for Chromium.

Any chance you would be able to apply to a Google Summer of Code mentorship, as part of the Blue Sky project or the ActivityPub community?

They just kicked off a call for projects and it is a great opportunity to mentor someone!

WDYT?

Something to note about the address/url bar is that it doesn't have a great analogy on mobile ... It exists, but much smaller surface area ...

Yeah, I think so.

Integration with autofill (as shown in this video) is already available in chrome canaries as this:

github.com/w3c-fedid/Fe...

Would that help?
Augment autofill with a `conditional` get · Issue #694 · w3c-fedid/FedCM
There is a big intersection between the data that is available to FedCM and autofill, most notably, verified email addresses. Email addresses, in particular, are interesting because verifying them ...

Sweet! Whenever you get to it, just send it over and I can help you debug!

Maybe we can try the ActivityPub's Open Social foundation?
January 15, 2026 at 3:33 PM
Maybe @aaronpk.com 's Auth0/Okta could pitch in?

I can ask internally if that would be possible, but I think that might murk the waters ... ideally, it would be driven by an independent institution ...

do you have a public link that i could use to try and debug?

Yeah, IIRC, I think you were worried about breaking users and website author's expectations? Was that it?

Expand a bit more?

For sure

Yeah, I think @thisismissem.social shared the W3C Social Web meetings noted recently where this was discussed for activitypub.

For example, Mozilla still has classified FedCM as "neutral", so changing it back to"positive" would be a good (low effort) win :)

Sweet!! I think FedCM can play a major role in helping blue sky, so, in case you can, try to put a good word for FedCM at Mozilla :)

Sweet!

I kicked off a thread!

Looking forward to hearing how the browser community might help!
Ways that the browser can change to help the atproto succeed?
Hey all! I’m a browser engineer working on Google Chrome and I work on Web Platform APIs*! I’m a big fan of atproto and have been using it for a while (although I failed at running my own PDS :(), a...

Can I help?

Launch an integration, tell users to flip the right chrome://flags and learn/iterate from the process.

I think code speaks much louder than words.

That's what we did in chrome: we wrote the code, put behind a flag, and are waiting for it prove itself useful (or not).
