Northern Michigan University Biology & Chemistry Departments are expanding with the opening of the new Weston Science Wing!! The official opening of the facilities is planned for Thurs this week. The Energetics Lab is moving into this new wing. New science will be conducted at Biology. Stay tuned 😊😁

Glad to start this academic year as the new Biology Graduate Director at Northern Michigan University! We had great kickoff in this new year with all new Graduate Assistants. Glad to have spent two weeks in Strasbourg to work & catch up with colleagues from the Ecology, Physiology & Environment CNRS Lab (IPHC-DEPE). These were great & productive weeks! Also the City of Strasbourg is so beautiful 🤩

Start of a new research endeavor with the establishment of a colony of thirteen lined ground squirrels at NMU Biology. First step: trapping this small hibernator before winter start! Second step: bringing those squirrels into captivity. Big steps done for the Energetics Lab!

Hi! I am thrilled to announce the very first step of the Energetics Lab at Northern Michigan with the establishment of a shed (place!) for housing a first hibernating species for my Lab. The plan is to bring 13-lined ground squirrels next spring. First tests during this winter.
