As a Quaker, I find it very strange to hear the Trump admin’s perverse twist on our traditional testimony of simplicity. The spiritual benefits of having fewer possessions depend upon the spiritual discernment which leads to the choice to simplify one’s life. That’s not the same as forced poverty
