Congratulations to prof. Ben Adcock who has been awarded the 2025 John L. Synge Award by the Royal Society of Canada.

Prof. Adcock’s research has shaped the foundations of data science and machine learning, driving breakthroughs in compressed sensing, imaging, and high-dimensional approximation.

Melissa was 17 years old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer with a 90% mortality rate. After many rounds of chemo, she promised to use this second chance to make a meaningful difference in the world.
