As always, the secret cabal meeting is interrupted by me saying “awwww”. Mochi (brown tabby), in particular, is denying his involvement by stare down.

Didn’t go in but I wonder if the Simpsons theme extend to the interior. Is Barney in there?
A bar called “moe’z” with orange wall paint, trompe l’oeil purple crisscross beams on the top 1/5 of the wall and green and orange diagonal stain glass windows resembling that of Simpson’s location Moe’s bar. There are also 2 black boards with jack Daniel’s written on them.

The cups came back and the glaze worked out pretty well for almost all of them. This is a set I made for my friend who has 7 people in her family.
7 cups on a white table. The cups are blue on the inside and dark reddish brown with intense blue speckles all over. A pitcher with protruding spout and simple handle sitting next to 3 stacks of cups on a cherry table. All pieces have similar glaze of dark reddish brown and intense blue speckles all over. The left and front stacks consist of 2 cups each. The front stack is shorter.

I was only going to be at the studio for two hours. Then the handle I pulled for the mug was too long and wanted to swing in. Of course it had to become a snake and I needed to sculpt a prototype first and order not to mess it up. Now it’s been four hours…

Added a handle to the moon jar pitcher. It’s quite floppy so I had to prop it up. I’m only 89% attached to this piece.

Did some trimming and then some throwing with the last 2 lb block of clay from this bag.

It’s going to have handles attached and become a Hittite style pitcher. Honestly it’s a wild attempt at making a functional piece with eccentric shape.

Getting back into the studio again and I’m making a set of 7 water cups for a pitcher set. (Pitcher already done). Lost one during trimming but the remaining 4 are sisters. Since the set is for a family I think this should be ok.

These two are such typical siblings — snuggling one second and fighting the next. Mochi (the one on the right), especially feels complex feelings about not being an only child any more.

For caturday, I’m pinned between two cats on the couch with only my right thumb fully mobile for the last hour.

Only one picture avail for evidence since I can’t move enough to get a good angle for the one occupying my left arm.

Only one more piece to glaze and that’s the teapot. Today’s attempt failed because it wasn’t dry enough from when I rinsed it out yesterday.

A set of 4 bowls from this session. They are quite striking and beautiful. I will make more in this series and need a name for it. Any suggestions?
