Our word of the day was "ineffable" today.

I was standing out of the way during the news (which presents said WOTD) and giggling hysterically silently.

I'm sure the idea was from the NYT that used it on the 2nd (image). Still, it feels like a ... portent? almost.

A positive one, I would imagine?

OK I looked it up and used my ultra-high-tech screenshot technique since I'm a luddite apparently.

I see _Reflections on War and Peace_. Do you agree?

Ha! 3.03 at 6:41, I can't do anything with images so I just screenshot it.

What could I do with my brain if I weren't figuring out and then remembering this??!

Was it this one? I remember it was very different from the UK ones that were all over my library (I liked it OK but the depression was something I shouldn't have been reading and the rape made me stop, I should re-read)

I can't remember the ep now. 3.01? 3.02? I haven't seen Staged in ages now

I had Azirafeast hot cocoa and tiramisu (the posh kind, as he has standards), which normally I'd never spring for.

The best part was celebrating a holiday nobody around me knew existed.

Well, I'm sure I could appropriate some space here, but I like to have them with me all the time for comfort and to keep me company. No matter how everyone at work and school may be against me (including me when I often mess up), I have this to make me feel better!

This warms my heart. You see the 6 7 we were just talking about and inches above it, the weird S we used to draw decades ago.

Plus ca change...

Desk used by teenagers (not my room. I was just visiting and clearly focused on the lecture)

Might have bought Frost Nicon because Michael is meant to be good in the role.

May have bought it to see a corrupt president actually held to account.

Either way, that's what I'm watching whilst grading this weekend

My daughter went to the county fair with friends. She came home with Cheez-it and Cheeto.

Her first pets! I hope they live.

It's kind of fun having a teenager who does teenager things!

That's because you have the good taste to recognise his perfection. As should we all.

They were the best! They used to have great flavours and cartoon otters. We bought the discount ones, so they were special.

So, my kid who just went to college had said, "good night" to us every night (yes, at age 18!) and had rituals for that. She'd shut my laptop. (If I annoyed her, she turned on the Big Light!)

Last night, I sent her a pic of my open laptop and she sent me this and I love her!

Tonight ? #personal

You also clearly need a cup of tea ("paned" in Welsh!)

Here is one in a cup I would give you if you were in my house. It doesn't have Rose on but is otherwise the only thematic cup I have! Plus gorgeous w/tea in.

Sometimes, I watch this for an embarrassingly long time, because I can hear him say it in his voice and it's almost like someone actually telling me that.

Also, Michael is more believable than I am and much kinder than my brain.

Sometimes, this is literally a reason I have to stick around and keep trying.

Because I will protect Aziraphale from that one post that nobody else will see.

At work, they ask us about our "why?" and I am often less honest than I should be, perhaps?

If you want to visualise things in a different way...

Don't be sorry. We'll try to figure it out.

Last week this was the only thing that made me smile.
August 17, 2025 at 2:51 AM
So, got this this morning and it honestly made my day! (because I am not a monster and i comment and honestly the payback far, far outweighs the effort almost every time)

I had one a couple days ago in San Francisco.

Tasty but did understand Aziraphale 1793.

This account loves and defends Aziraphale to a possibly unhealthy extent.
June 26, 2025 at 8:01 PM
I didn't have time or money to go in.

Any guesses what they sell?

Ooh, I did see a turtle -- well, probably a tortoise-- just a day or 2 ago on a walk, midnightish. It was about 3-4cm long. Never seen one like this. I also saw this lizard-looking thing same night and cranky snake the next day. Normally, it's all spiders, frogs and toads!

It's so long since I've been out in nature, my last photo was of my last workplace, from the car park.
