I feel this so much. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been truly made to feel wanted, feel like my sexuality isn't a joke or gross. It sucks. I just wanna feel desirable, you know?

usually the first kind, tbh. I hyperfocus on games for a while, but I tend to overcommit to completionism and my ADHD brain wanders away before I actually finish.

Just the result of people behaving in completely rational and reasonable ways. Nobody's individually doing anything wrong, but as a culture we're becoming so disconnected. Isolated.

As someone who is already not great at integrating into communities or meeting people, I just don't know how to navigate the social landscape we've created to meet my needs. I don't even know what questions to ask to try to learn. And I don't know what a fix looks like because so much of this is...

There's so many layers to this. Insane parasociality of social platforms (influencers, content creators, etc etc) , echo chambers due to our incredibly powerful tools to select into them, the ability to get instant hits of acknowledgment in the form of likes and shares and follows, and... It's DEEP.

This isn't even a criticism of that behavior. Of course we are! We find our favorite people and we have more access to them than ever before, so why would we expand out from that? But man, it is doing awful things to the dating landscape and people's ability to make new friends
