FFXI: Seydlitz @Asura
It lulls you into a false sense of security. Takeru gets another chance to go through the events of Unlimited, but with the strength and knowledge he built up during it... and then he faces the BETA for the first time.
Traumatic, yet breathtaking.

After the events of Meiya's/Sumika's route, Takeru warps into an alternate reality where aliens are ravaging Earth!
It's a much more serious story that does have some room for levity. It's "slice of life", if you count cadet training as SoL. Pretty great.

A simple, kind of cliché’d romance story. Meiya’s shenanigans are by far the most interesting thing about it, and I think Sumika is written really well. Kei is my type and Miki is charming… but none of it really makes for a wholly satisfying plot. It’s fine.

It’s kino!
I really liked all the main characters, very charming show that’s mainly a light-hearted detective series with occasional dark episodes… and plenty of great action!

It compounds the message of Kara no Kyoukai 5 into a more comprehensive storyline. It’s a rather lovely experience, with some of the best scenes in Type-Moon. Sadly, it could be argued its main plot is a bit short, but what’s there is great.

My friend who decided to play Blue Mage probably knows more about the lore, as Blue Mages are integral to Aht Urghan’s culture.

It’s got a nice Arab theme to it, and the story was easier to follow, yet less satisfying than CoP. Half the missions are “go to Naja Salaheem”, your greedy mercenary boss who puts you in comedically large debt. It’s… fine.

It’s a 1963 Disney movie about a young King Arthur… too bad it sucks! Caliburn doesn’t even appear until the last ten minutes. The vast majority of the movie is Arthur and Merlin turning into animals for some reason. At least Merlin is funny.

None of the routes stand well on their own, and I maintain that Zero is the best story of the four. However, every route builds on the last and culminates with cathartic payoff. Its whole is untouchably beautiful, and Zero can’t compare.

Nicolas Cage is so fucking cool.

You’ll probably never read this, but do you remember when you told me to play Automata? When we were both excited for Replicant to release in 2021?
I finally did it, Brett. It was worth it. Thank you for being my friend.

It's fine. Nothing really extraordinary about it. I liked Temmie. Combat was entertaining, reminded me of Touhou.

The central conflict is interesting but there’s so much side nonsense that’s just functionally filler. It’s not as bad as ARR, but still mid.

The conclusion to the conspiracy set forth in the original game, and the secret to the beastmen revealed.
Both this and Rise of the Zilart had rather confusing plots, but I still really enjoyed them! Prishe is best girl.

Surprisingly great for Summer Blockbusterslop. It’s got a little bit of everything, though doesn’t really excel in anything. I really liked the orange girl, though…!

A really incredible film following Lawrence of Arabia’s story during WW1. Its advanced length of 3h47m is deserved: this is an emotionally brutal film about what it really means to do “the right thing”, as our protagonist fights bravely for freedom…

A huge departure from previous titles, yet it feels so much like an evolution from before. While the linear story is offputting and the lack of world map is disappointing, the depth of the story and mechanics made this a fantastic experience by the second half.

Meursalt is kind of goated in his simplicity. I don’t always agree with his perceptions, but I always understand. Shame about that murder, though.

Far, far more polished than DS1, and an actually good game. It does have moments of major frustration and retain its “unique storytelling”, but it is a really good game that gives you a lot of freedom on how you want to play. Close to a 9/10, I think.

20% immensely fun, 40% ridiculous, 40% frustrating beyond belief. There's no story to speak of and all lore is hidden behind fucking item descriptions of all things. It's just a bad fucking game.
If I had to give it a numerical rating, it would be something like 4/10

I spent way too long on this, but I really did enjoy it a lot. A post-apocalypse oriented around two young girls who don’t understand the world before. Extremely melancholic yet also immensely “cozy”. Truly immaculate vibes.
