Beautiful skies over Berlin yesterday, noontime and sunset.

A few weeks ago I went to the Yoko Ono exhibit at the Gropius Bau, and really liked a lot of it. This was really fun: instructions to hammer a nail into the painting, and I chose to add a $2 bill (yes, that’s a real US bill) that I’ve carried in my wallet for almost 15 years. I loved participating.

I had a truly beautiful visit with my dearest Mama this month, a welcome break from Berlin winter in sweet California.

Seven years ago today my husband and I were about to move to Germany. It was a really hard time, as my dear stepfather was gravely ill and actually died on February 13th. Always a poignant time of year, with hope and loss all mixed together. This little guy, however, continues to brighten life.

Spent a restorative weekend mostly not thinking about the horrors of the world. Alpine carnival traditions are specifically about taking a break from the usual!
