There usually is a pretty significant focus on the Third Reich in history classes but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be enough for people to recognize and reject fascism today.
People are just driven by hatred against minorities just like 90 years ago. Simple answers and someone to blame.

Don't get me wrong an AfD takeover isn't inevitable and a current rise in popularity of the left party is giving me some hope but it's at the very least already to close to be comfortable.

Then came the alt right, some crises and the incredible ineffectiveness of liberals when it comes to fighting fascism and fascism is back big time.

There is a higher than 0% chance that the AfD will form a coalition with the CDU after the upcoming election this Sunday. In 4 years it's probably even more likely since the CDU is moving further and further right as are all other major parties.
Germany is currently heading towards fascism.
