One reported inland in a car park at Dyrham Park NT? years ago but I don't know what happened to the record. Certainly my first South Glos but my 2nd "Avon" record. I am grateful for the initial report on Ebird or wouldn't have gone looking ebird.org/checklist/S2...

my persistence of walking up and down the sea defences at Severn Beach finally produced my 1st Black Redstart of the year today. A female type on the rocks below the high concrete wave return. The light was awful this afternoon so hopefully it will stay a while for a sunny day.

Looking at tomorrow's weather, rain showers and a stiff SW wind it or others may be around. Unfortunately high tide is after dark tomorrow evening but there should be enough water in the estuary off Severn Beach to have a look from 3pm onwards.

Here is a drone shot from 2019. At least 200 species of bird have now been seen on the wetland and serves as an important feeding and roosting site for many species of wader and wildfowl during spring, autumn and winter. Well done Richard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3rv...
