Yes Kate, somewhere around dove size. Not as big as a wood pigeon though.

I cannot convince myself either way now. It definitely looked to have a paler mantle than lesser legged, (i get them on my house). Yellow legged can have some head streaking. I guess this bird is neither winter or summer plumage as it was photographed 3rd October. eyes are the same in both
