Instead of setting up a compressor sidechain, we usually just dip this frequency range out a bit on the entire music/ambiance channel and it makes a nice bit of space for the dialogue. I'm not anti-compressor, but I'm anti-people-being-able-to-hear-a-compressor, so I use them very sparingly.

We don't launch book 4 until January! We ARE an ongoing series, but each book starts with a new session zero and a fresh introduction with new listeners in mind. High focus on editing and sound-design that goes along with a mostly comedic tone over a horror mood. @gmamanda.bsky.social is wonderful!
