Lefty was ready to start Game 7 not quite 1986 game 6 nlcs mets must win to avoid mike scott for game 7 but did think A's needed to win this in 6. That being said both the 72 and 73 A's were clutch in the must win games in both alcs and world series those years so it could have gone their way too.
