Another trip to lovely Manchester yesterday, this time with @ai4cihub.bsky.social for a UKRI AI Research Hubs meet up in the Whitworth Art Gallery. It was v nice for to meet new AI people and see some #Art - but it turned into a very long day when the trains stopped running on the way home... 😑

7th PowerPoint: Is your ppt presentation sluggish? Are your animations jerky + unresponsive? Make sure you close the Animations Pane before you launch the presentation. For some reason PowerPoint is snail-like when it's open, so keep it closed whenever you’re not actually using it. #AcademicSky

I tend to use a lot of typography to keep the reviewer's eyes busy and stop them skipping over paragraphs when they get tired. underlined mini-headings, bold and italics to accent different things. i *may* tend to overdo it tbh. but i think it can help.
