Rural and indigenous communities, low in carbon emissions, protect the planet, but are crushed by debt imposed by the IMF, the World Bank, and major polluters. The DRC, a solution country, is impoverished even though it holds immense climate potential.

On the occasion of International Oceans Day, I had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of the Congo River in Kisangani, visiting the indigenous people at the Wagenya Falls. The Congo River is a hotbed of biodiversity, home to a multitude of plant and animal species, both aquatic and wild.
