Just a place to write out my thoughts
Every year for the holidays, I go back to the small town in northwest Iowa where I grew up, and every year I'm reminded in new ways just how crummy and racist that place is. It sucks not feeling at home in one's hometown.

I actually like the NASCAR playoffs. Without them, I probably wouldn't have discovered how great other racing series are. Have you guys seen an IndyCar race on a high-speed oval?! Can't believe I've been missing out all these years.

The F1 movie (spoilers?) - it's a bit like Days of Thunder if Tom Cruise had a romantic relationship with Robert Duvall

Today marks the 2-month anniversary of the last yellow flag thrown in an IndyCar race.

Movie theaters should capitalize on the chicken jockey trend and treat showings of Minecraft the same way they treat showings of Rocky Horror. We have a rich history of being rowdy and throwing crap at theaters. Embrace it. The kids are alright.

Today I'm reminded of all the excellent Val Kilmer movies he had worked on over the years. My favorite has got to be his film debut Top Secret!

After much hype I decided to watch Star Trek: Lower Decks. It is... not for me. The "jokes" are just references. The characters are dumb and annoying. The exposition is bad. Idk why this show has so many fans. The art style is nice, I'll give it that. But, I'll stick to The Orville for my nu-treks.

Eggs too expensive? You can just not buy them. No one's forcing you. Vegans don't buy eggs all the time. Maybe try something new.

All the other groceries also too expensive? Okay, I'll give you that one. That's the real problem.

One of Them Days - This movie was fun. Keke Palmer and SZA were great. The cinematography is shockingly good. I'm so used to comedies these days being cheap cynical cash-grabs, but this movie has heart. You can tell the creators actually put effort into this one, and I hope it does well.

Small Things Like These - I could see how some people would be bored with a movie like this... but those people are dumb. I liked this movie.

Anora - This movie had everything: sex, parties, comedy, drama, and a geniune emotional ending. The tone was all over the place, and I loved it.

The minimalist designs for electric vehicles were good for a time, but now we need something fresh. I say we move in this direction:

I finally watched the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie. It was amazing! It's lighthearted, fun, and very weird (in the best way possible). For example, Toad is played by Mojo Nixon. Incredible. *chef's kiss*

I never understood the strong feelings about popcorn ceilings. It's just a ceiling with a slightly eccentric texture. Hardly worth noticing.

Die Hard is great and all, but my favorite Christmas movie is Gremlins

Gladiator II - Expectations were low. I've never seen the original, but I still really enjoyed this movie. Characters were well written and acted. There were a few distracting day-for-night scenes, which never look great. But, overall, solid movie. Would recommend.

IMO one mistake that Tesla continues to make (other than the obvious) is not going racing. Sure, the cars accelerate like crazy, but without a factory racing program, they've never really "won" anything. I think this is a big reason EVs are seen by some as "soulless appliances."
