According to Wikipedia, there were several US occupations of foreign countries that spanned those years, and about 2 wars that the US was directly involved with. The US was on the losing side of each of those wars, funnily enough.

I think his lawyers have been doing a great job actually. It's not their fault that the justice system isn't prepared to fight against a federal government that pretends there are no laws, and no constitution.

I'm aware. I'd be lying if I said I haven't found them funny from time to time, or if I said that they don't routinely make a point better than I could. I recently watched an episode about ICE, and they did great.
But they're still jerks who helped make the case for Trump even as they mocked him.

It's in the plain text of the constitution that the president doesn't set tariffs, congress does. Our super majority "originalist" supreme Court though seems to care less and less about what the constitution says, and even about things like legal precedent, or the law.
