Not how any of this works, and you know it. Authority to exist must be granted. Simple questions: where was ICE granted this broad authority to enforce, apparently, every single federal and state law? And who at ICE possesses these powers, and under what circumstances?

That’s an absurdly broad statement, and patently untrue.

That’s not how grants of authority work. If it’s tedious to demand strict proof of broad claims of unchecked authority, that’s just too bad. We are a nation of laws.

1357 isn’t a legal citation. Do you mean 8 USC 1357? Who specifically do you claim has, for example, powers of arrest under that statute? Every ICE employee including office supply clerks?

If they have unfettered legal authority, they have to establish it.

And also, which ICE employees (which specific job/positions) because it certainly isn’t every ICE employee? If they have authority, they have to prove/establish that.
January 14, 2026 at 4:02 AM
Not at all. IF ICE has authority, it is granted by statute. What’s the statute?
January 14, 2026 at 3:57 AM
That’s an extraordinary claim. You’ll need to prove that with a citation to that statute. Also, who is them? Even if it were true, not every ICE “agent” is a LEO.

Very, very few (if any) ICE employees are legitimately empowered to act in a law enforcement capacity. The vast majority of that small minority have an extremely narrow scope of authority. Their apologists try to obfuscate that truth.

So, he admits he has no control over his troops and concedes his troops can’t be expected to act lawfully and in accordance with best law enforcement practices.

That statement is misleading in several important ways, even though parts of it might sound plausible on first read. But you already knew that.

ICE isn’t law enforcement.

Wrong. “ICE does not have the authority to enter a non-public area of the facility/worksite without the employer’s consent…. Without a judicial search warrant, an employer [toor example] has the right to refuse to make employees available to ICE.”

It was only a matter of time before he did this…,
