In an actual good negotiation, both sides walk away with everything they want or as close to it as they can get, otherwise they just walk. If you are walking away disappointed, then it was a bad negotiation

They won:to become dirt cheap, they will become worthless. These GPU's have an expected lifespan or maybe 2 yrs of DC use, and they will be obsolete before then. No one will waste money or time buying them to figure out a use.

I don't think you quite understand the hardware. This is not general purpose built equipment that can be retasked, Every bit of it, from start to finish, was built to do Gen AI bullshit. It would be easier to turn your car into a boat than it would be to make this hardware usable for another purpose

Being generous, I can imagine some guy writing the first attempt and deciding it was good as long as it was not wholly genAI written, and everyone else signed off with a quick skim, and only really looked once the outcry occurred.

Hell, it's premium models couldn't compete with other premium models. They sat on their ass for a decade, and as a result found themselves left in the dust.

Given the industry they were involved in, either the parts will be nearly burned out from overuse, or completely unsuited for any normal use due to being so specialized.
