Had an absolute blast chatting with @brodierobertson.xyz last night! You'll be able to watch / listen in the next couple of weeks

PS the microphone was mostly for show. Forgot to enable the drivers xD

Following up on the new planner module in the #disksrs partitioning crate, we've added the initial `strategy` module for computing disk use strategies including wiping the disk and starting anew, using free extents, etc.

The latest happenings in #disksrs : Planning APIs for partition manipulation. Kinda useful for an installer.

Early days but yes: automatic alignment, undo-stack, data-representation only, tracked changeset for clear communication/etc.

early experiments for the installer..

Sometimes when you've worked on a project long enough, useful conventions and patterns emerge.

Some times though, this happens. ("Approved in spirit")

Hot on the heels of.. well pretty much everything we've done lately ... XD

Shown here is a PoC *rust* packagekitd plugin (libpk_backend_moss.so) using our privileged_ipc crate to talk to a helper process (spawned on demand).

TLDR moss will expose an IPC API. Data shown is mock.

Working on packagekit integration for moss using an out of tree plugin. Right now just emulating the dataset but hey, it's an actual Rust `.so` built out of tree and talking happily to packagekitd.

OK, the IPC prototype now works, also allowing pkexec usage w/ socket passing. More on this soon, and how it will facilitate integration and improvements to moss, lichen, etc.

We've got the ISO working with etcher now per your requests =)

Last night we landed the very rough beginnings of the new `moss boot` family of commands. For now we have `moss boot status` allowing you to introspect your boot configuration (dynamic probing) - and we'll augment this soon with more options and cmdline snippet handling =)

Our GNOME ISO is undergoing some last minute internal (matrix) testing. Seemingly the only remaining item on the list is having blsforme automatically remove kernels from ESP/XBOOTLDR.

Attached a sneak preview of what you can expect.

For a while we've defaulted to the "Resources" application rather than gnome-system-monitor.

Ain't it pretty?

As of maybe 20 minutes ago, nvidia proprietary drivers and Steam work on Serpent OS

Yep we've been quiet, and with reason. Remember we said we were prepping "the big one" for a release... ?
