Marmoset Toolbag legit just lets you cheat.

seamlessly blends two parts together + bevels all the edges for the cost of a normal map (nothing)

genuinely one of the only pieces of software I'm actually happy paying for every month. #3DCG #Blender

WIP commission work, I've been experimenting with using marmoset edge bevels in lieu of manually bevelling and baking from a high-poly master. It works extremely well for driving the perceived silhouette of fabric edges with the bonus of not having to worry about edge continuity

very crude breakdown of my process for processing simulated mesh from marvellous designer into an approximately medium poly output that retains low frequency folds in mesh and high frequency folds in normal bakes.

typically I don't retain low freq detail in mesh but this one was a treat to myself.

Tried a new technique of using marmoset toolbag's bevel shader to smoothly fillet all the leather work and seamlessly integrate floating boolean cuts

finiiiished jeans + shirt model+textures commission for Pathetic_Fish who is not on bluesky yet :(

i'm incredibly happy with the realism i achieved in the texturing, i used my actual jeans as reference and painted shading by lighting reference. muscle toning painted on shirt makes it POP my lord.
