If your game only fits 6 English words in the dialogue box, like Zelda does, please use concise language and don't explain how the compass works in every dungeon. It's one of my all time favorite games but it's an exhausting read.

But I remember when it was closer to that and I understand the reverence from those who experienced it. Our generation will always be the younger siblings of Gen X in a way that does not correlate to how today's young adult sees us and I think it's with good reason, even if it can feel frustrating.

This is not to blanket excuse a lack of willingness to engage with anything outside of the here and now or to dismiss legitimate concerns about media literacy and loss of craft. I just think some of us should accept that talking in Simpsons quotes for over half our lives is more our thing than norm.
