Now they tell me! Today I learned…

Well, that didn’t age well. Probably not surprised it’s for sale at the Friends of the Library store.

Episode 2 of Serious Fondue Rodeo (holding to my plan for episodes to be available on the 1st each month) is in the can for tomorrow! One of my most ambitious edits... for those that stick with it until the end. Pretty proud of this one. www.youtube.com/@SeriousFond...

Have you noticed anything glowing at night around the neighborhood? Barrels for example?

What to do with old CDs…

A few more bugs to fix and a couple extra features to add and this bad boy might actually be ready for the App Store soon! Do you convert VHS and edit videos on a Mac? Not a fan of huge editing suites for 90% of what you do? Have I got an app for you… soon. 😁

Just sitting here staring at my Kleenex box, flipping it back and forth… what are you doing this Sunday afternoon?

Seeing “interactive menu” as a special feature on DVDs was always funny, until I found a movie without it. Side note: The Lost World 1925 is shockingly advanced. The attention to detail with saliva, chest fluctuating from breathing, tail articulation, live action blending… was honestly amazed.

Recently learned about AUv3 audio plugin architecture and was able to get them working in my “soon” to be released video editing app. Because making a commercial sound like chipmunks is a vital bullet point for the features list.

I’m reminded there was a time when I was a hot shot buckaroo who struck fear in the hearts of clowns everywhere.

Crazy, you can see they taped over Snow White 😂

Took far longer than I thought it would, but finally got a really solid video transcription system working. Takes less time than the video is long and costs less than a movie rental... unlocks a whole new realm of International cinema and foreign VHS! This is Wahan Ke Log... a 60's Bollywood SciFi.

Redid my commercial extracting scripts to account for audio silence as well as black frames and added visualization for what it found and what it decided to do. FAR more accurate now to extract commercials. Hate to do it, but I deleted my 4,500 commercial archive and am totally redoing it now.

Sped up my commercial archive search tool and gave it a sexy log output and dumps videos in a folder to grab what I want. 4,700 commercials currently. Pretty pleased.

Going through a 2000’s VHS tape with Jenny Jones and commercials and this Hot Pocket ad had the best fake product name… Bednar’s! Wonder if I’m related to the graphic designer that worked on this?!

My VHS “collecting” is getting dangerously close to hoarding after nearly 100 tapes in 24 hours.

Even they know I’m a goner. Ironically the next episode is S4e5 with Ace… who would most definitely save me effortlessly.

Transcribing and categorizing takes an average 15 secs per 30 sec commercial. 2k in 8ish hours. Categories are far more accurate, though not perfect, especially for the more artistic commercials with little dialog, but it finds NOLA related fairly well now. @filmwritr4.bsky.social Getting exciting!
