I mean, Russia uses data from their own spy satellites, which they use at will, while Ukraine relies on NATO intelligence in discovering targets and navigation of drones/missiles. Depending on sky/cloud conditions and how well potential targets are hidden, it limits the number of targets.

I see. The reports from pro-Ukraine observers like Tim White create the impression that Ukraine received harder and more numerous hits behind the frontline compared to Russia. Maybe this is because civilian object hits are more news worthy. Or maybe Ukraine has less targets, of military related.

I wonder about the total weight of explosives delivered by unintercepted long range drones and missiles every night in comparison, Russian vs. Ukrainian.

If the military strength balance for Ukraine vs Russia was the same as in the case of Israel vs Islamists, I think Ukraine would act the same as Israel does. However they hate Russians, the lack of strength and the danger of provoking a nuclear strike keeps Ukrainian actions on the soft side.

.. the enemy side, civilian or not, is daydreaming about destroying every trace of the free society on the planet and killing every person who supports it. If Gaza Arabs were not stopped by IDF on Oct 7, they would kill every single one of 7 million Jews, going from home to home, no doubt about it.
