Attempted movements seem to be a more "external" task than motor imagery, and thus can be more compatible with feedback monitoring.

We hypothesized that motor imagery is not well suited for brain-computer interfaces because it is an "internal" task, while a user is dealing, simultaneously, with an "external" task: monitoring the BCI feedback.
