Ocean temp jumps to 70 in La Jolla. SD Bay temp was 73 at Crown Cove, Silver Strand State Beach yesterday.

In the field in Tijuana today with our @wildcoastorg.bsky.social team who have built 2 trash booms to stop marine debris from entering the ocean. One is made from a confiscated totoaba netw from the Gulf of CA.

Here’s what’s ready to flow into the @TijuanaEstuary and the Pacific Ocean when it rains. This is the Tijuana River channel on 12/15/24 that is used as an “unofficial” but really official garbage dump in Tijuana. Garbage trucks dump their loads directly into the channel.

At Border Field State Park literally on the U.S.-Mx border in San Diego this morning. Due to sewage pollution from TJ our park is pretty much permanently closed. What a tragedy…

Shocked that Governor Alfonso Durazo of Sonora re-launched the discredited and disgraced "Escalera Nautica" project that a coalition of NGOs halted 21 years ago. And he did it at a conservation meeting, Foro Mar de Cortes!!! Lessons never learned, tragic mistakes repeated.
