Ocean temp jumps to 70 in La Jolla. SD Bay temp was 73 at Crown Cove, Silver Strand State Beach yesterday.

Here’s what’s ready to flow into the @TijuanaEstuary and the Pacific Ocean when it rains. This is the Tijuana River channel on 12/15/24 that is used as an “unofficial” but really official garbage dump in Tijuana. Garbage trucks dump their loads directly into the channel.

The U.S.-Mx border pollution crisis in San Diego-Tijuana featured in Mexico’s Excelsior newspaper. This crisis has closed border beaches for years and is destroying a national wildlife refuge.

At Border Field State Park literally on the U.S.-Mx border in San Diego this morning. Due to sewage pollution from TJ our park is pretty much permanently closed. What a tragedy…

Shocked that Governor Alfonso Durazo of Sonora re-launched the discredited and disgraced "Escalera Nautica" project that a coalition of NGOs halted 21 years ago. And he did it at a conservation meeting, Foro Mar de Cortes!!! Lessons never learned, tragic mistakes repeated.
