I agree, but two caveats:

The government should not be in the business of loaning money for any reason.

You shouldn't have to write off anything because taxation is theft.

Who gets to determine what's in "public interest?" I don't consider funding the war in Ukraine in my interest, and I don't consider giving those parasites in Washington a 40% raise in my interest either.

Taxes are taken by force through threat of imprisonment or death. They are theft.

The Constitution is unfit to exist. It either allowed for government overreach or was powerless to stop it.

I don't consider getting thousands of people killed a good investment. Besides all that equipment needs to then be delivered and backfilled, and that costs money.

I also don't buy the increase to global trade since the US sanctioned the shit out of Russia, and Ukraine's workforce is depleted.
December 20, 2024 at 12:09 PM
You are more than likely correct, but this is why taxation is theft.
December 20, 2024 at 12:02 PM
It's not immaterial. If there is a competitor that is performing a better service then people can just use the competitor. Profits and competition incentivise providing a reliable product/service because if you don't then people will take their business and money elsewhere.

What is an example of an unprofitable service?
December 20, 2024 at 6:08 AM
Okay, so how are the other parcel carriers doing?
December 20, 2024 at 6:05 AM
Incorrect, profits are actually maximized by reducing cost. Standard oil became the largest oil company by reducing the cost of oil, thus making it affordable for more people. Aldi is the most successful grocery store in the US because they are able to provide goods cheaper than competitors.

Every day. Soli Deo Gloria.

I have a twenty dollar appliance at home that makes better coffee than all of you.

Joy is found by following Jesus Christ.
December 20, 2024 at 5:17 AM
Mmm, you're technically correct. That's just $190 million that won't be printed or have to be borrowed towards the national debt.
December 20, 2024 at 5:09 AM
Order a package through UPS and USPS and see which one gets there faster. Then tell me it's a lie.
December 20, 2024 at 5:06 AM
I didn't say it wasn't a good use of money. What I said is that if individual people think it is a good use of money, then they will freely use their money for that purpose. Individuals should decide how their money is spent, not the government.

If all the slave states seceded from the union there wouldn't be any slavery in the union anymore...even though there were still slaves in the northern states.

To be clear: slavery requires force and is therefore not a good idea. But neither is starting a war that killed 600000 people.

All of these services can be provided by the private sector, and often are provided by the private sector in a more efficient manner.

I'll stop using the roads when they stop stealing from me.
December 20, 2024 at 4:22 AM
Incorrect on all fronts. Taxation is the confiscation of money through coercion; therefore theft.

A money has value because it is recognized by the market as a reliable medium of exchange.

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon where there are too many dollars chasing too few goods.
December 20, 2024 at 4:20 AM
Is that what you call over $60 billion dollars of weapons to Israel and Ukraine, infrastructure?
December 20, 2024 at 4:09 AM
Correct
December 20, 2024 at 4:06 AM
Correction, he gave a $190 million back to the tax payers who can now choose to voluntarily invest in that research if they deem it a good use of their money. Knock it off with the "think of the children bs" taxation is theft.
December 20, 2024 at 4:05 AM
Taxation is theft. Also, lets not forget that Congress just tried to give themselves a 40% raise.
December 20, 2024 at 4:02 AM
Except Mangione is more comparable to Barabas, and you would more than likely be one of the Pharisees asking Pilate to crucify Jesus.
December 20, 2024 at 3:59 AM
Which is exactly why we need school choice.
December 20, 2024 at 3:42 AM
You mean gaslighting the American people, and justifying government overreach? Sounds kinda weird to me.
