Half Life 1 II - Quarter Life

In 15 years they’re gonna remake Stardew Valley in full realistic 3D and voice acting and I will implode with crankiness.

It also adds some visual “texture” that camouflages rough lines a little bit.
(Also dot grid doesn’t have the same effect and you end up with weird dots on your drawings that look out of place and messy)

Yeah, I think that hits on it. And even if the creative decisions come about from a “lack of skill” they can still have really interesting results. It’s really hard to do it on purpose once you’ve internalized those kinds of decisions as “mistakes”.

And weird art. That’s probably my favourite. But i’m bad at making it, I just end up defaulting to trying to make something ‘pretty’.
