To be fair Murkowski is probably the most upstanding Republican senator right now and even that statement is pushing the public conversation. Frankly the media should be giving more attention to a Republican finally saying the quiet part out loud.

Technically Apple TV has been opening up to outside iOS (android, open web, smart TVs) though that should alleviate the losses. They could also just stop splurging hundreds of millions on movies people don't even watch.

S1 had great pace, starting slow but gaining steam and finishing w/some great episodes and one of the best finales in recent history (where a lot of good shows falter). S2 is meandering w/ too much wallowing over what happened in S1 plus general self indulgence vs moving the current plot forward.

The James Gunn Superman movie will be interesting as it will try to capture the inspirational theme of the original. Not much appetite for that internationally but could give the domestic audience some cognitive dissonance about the direction they’re going

Derek Thompson at the Atlantic has observed that while NBA viewership is declining, the surrounding media ecosystem (highlights, hot takes, gossip, podcasts) is paradoxically expanding. Basically everyone talks and listens about the NBA but doesn’t watch games.

Not a Bitcoin guy but this is the one thesis that makes me wonder. A lack of great alternatives to a declining US and it's just digital gold anyway (unlike the other main cryptos which need to demonstrate actual utility).
