Sometimes, something good can come out of loss or tragedy. My dad’s passing made me reach out to my niece to let her know. I hadn’t seen her since her dad’s/my brother’s funeral in 2014. This poor girl has known nothing but loss.

Tomorrow’s a week since daddy’s funeral. I’m having a rough go of it. I can’t even mourn properly because his estranged wife has made his death all about her for some reason. The last two weeks have been pure hell. But daddy’s laid to rest now. He’s at peace and no longer battling for every breath.
I made it home and almost texted him that I did so he wouldn’t worry. 💔

Daddy’s funeral is tomorrow. I hope I planned him a good service. I’m having a hard time coping, and I have to expect his estranged wife to be a pain in the ass. Because that’s the kind of thing I want to deal with.

Made it back home from spending a few days with Daddy in the hospital. He’s still fighting, but they called this morning to say he wasn’t doing well. He told me he doesn’t want me to see him die. I’m trying to be strong for him but I’m hanging on by a thread y’all.

They are moving my dad to hospice tomorrow. Once he leaves the hospital, he’ll only survive for a few hours because of his oxygen dependency. Maybe a day, but I doubt it.
