How much equity should you sell? 2025 data shows median Seed dilution is now 19.5%. Post-Series A, founders often own ~50%.
Startup Equity & Dilution: What’s Normal in 2025?
When startups raise capital, they face a balance between valuation and investment size, impacting dilution. In 2025, Seed and Series A rounds saw an average dilution of 19.5% and 18%, respectively, indicating a tougher fundraising climate.

BREAKING 🚨: COP30 is flooded with 1,600 fossil fuel lobbyists.

One in every 25 people inside the climate talks is working for the industry that caused this crisis.

They outnumber almost every country, including those losing lives to storms, drought and heat.

Jane Goodall is gone, but the fire from her last conference in Mexico City, which I was incredible lucky to attend, is not. She gave us a non-negotiable climate challenge: stop "stealing the future" from our kids.

Read my reflection on the pioneering biologist & her lessons for the world. 💡
Remembering Jane Goodall, a Titan of Conservation and Climate 🐒
The news landed last week, and it’s a profoundly sobering moment for anyone who cares about this planet: Dr. Jane Goodall has passed away at 91. She was the pioneering primatologist and probably the top biologist of her time. Her groundbreaking discoveries—that chimpanzees use tools, have distinct personalities, and complex social lives—didn't just change science; they forced humanity to look at itself in a new, humbler mirror. Incredibly enough, she first went to Tanzania in 1960 without a college degree. She was a young woman who dared to get up close and personal with animals most people thought were just "things." You can read her definitive obituary…

Our investment in Darwin AI is a bet on a proven team now building an AI-native startup. Here’s my take on why we're backing their mission to remake work in Latam.

Why We Doubled Down on the Darwin AI Team
What makes this investment special for me is the team. Darwin is led by Lautaro Schiaffino and Ezequiel Sculli, fantastic entrepreneurs who I’m also happy to call good friends. This is our second time backing them. My fund led the Series A for their first startup, Sirena, where I had the privilege of serving on the board. They built an essential software layer for WhatsApp that solved a chaotic problem for businesses across Latam, leading to a successful acquisition by Zenvia. Now, with Darwin AI, they are leveraging that experience. This points to a powerful trend I’m seeing across the region: the rise of the serial entrepreneur. Founders on their second or third go-around have a distinct advantage—a proven playbook, deeper networks, and hard-won experience. This combination dramatically increases the probability of success, and it’s a clear signal that the Latin American startup ecosystem is maturing. Investing in Darwin AI isn’t just about backing a great idea; it’s about backing a proven team that knows how to build and win.

Just read the AI 2027 report. It outlines two stark scenarios for how artificial intelligence could evolve in the next five years — from P(doom) to P(bloom). I share my reflections here.
Insights from the AI 2027 Report
The AI 2027 report explores future trajectories of artificial intelligence over five years, outlining two extreme scenarios: a dystopian outcome where rogue AIs threaten humanity and a utopian scenario where aligned models foster an era of abundance. Key factors include recursive self-improvement, U.S.–China rivalry, and alignment challenges, raising questions on navigating future disruptions.
