Many doctors left our state too due to being unable to avoid patients requiring narcotics for chronic pain or injuries. Too many were jailed over it despite not even overprescribing them.

Stigma and doctor’s risks/fears wrecked perceptions of such medicines despite it helping many.

The war on drugs did a number on people here.

This is also a coal mining state, so many would get injured on the job and due to poverty, none could get legal help and had to use street drugs to be able to work at all.

My uncle’s on similar meds as I due to breaking his spine in the mines.

My state was extremely affected by street drugs due to folks having to get illegal drugs due to doctors being afraid to prescribe anything. So it only make stuff worse due to laws preventing docs from giving anything.

It was what ruined my teen years, having no pain meds until age 19.

We have a family history of alcoholism and a few who were into drugs to the point of dying.

I just wish she could get I do pay attention and mention openly stuff to my doctor to not fall into those habits.

I am white, but that doesn’t mean much to them since I don’t have their “morals” or religion.

I know I couldn’t even post about my art or random topics because I am a bisexual man who is a polytheist. They always kept screaming how I should be jailed for leading kids away from Jesus… for believing people should have a choice to explore what they believe or not instead of being forced lol.

I know I should be saying “don’t mix alcohol and opiates,” and “watch out you could OD or accidentally peer into the future and see the fall of Elon Musk”

But yeah seriously tho. Be careful drinking alcohol when you’re on narcotics lol (and I know depression meds also can have issues too).
