If the "worst climate risks" are a warming of 3-4C, then yes.
However, at this point we're not sure the AMOC will keep circulating with a warming between 2-3C. So, fun! 👍

They were taught the rules to survive in the current system. Those rules include "suffering through college". The world being doomed doesn't preclude the desire to survive right now. But it does limit the interest one has in actively engaging with the system.

Per this post, ERA5 is a reanalysis dataset, which might accidentally smooth out such high fluctuations.
