I'm curious if Europeans / others experience this, or if its a uniquely US/NA problem. I've read that newer LED headlights in Europe feature adaptive dimming and even turn off parts to not flash other cars/pedestrians, but that tech isn't allowed here? We have half the headlight tech, the brightness

I am not a lawyer at all, but, "...Attendance... in such Manner... as each House may provide" sure does seem to say congress can decide what counts as absent or not on their damn own. Super frustrating.

I also feel the need to add: This is true of the really blatant "You just inherited $500M from an uncle you didn't know about" or "I'm a displaced prince..." type scams via email. There are other much more targeted ones that are far less obvious, especially in professional settings.

Yup. The email scams are designed to pull in only the most gullible, as the later steps will require even further gullibility, so the scammers want to prefilter their "leads."

That's all well and good, but is that a zombie lady to the left in your court...?

I actively rephrase sentences to add more words after the quotation to dodge the issue. Sorry, more of a coping mechanism than a solution!

Had something like this happen to a coworker years ago as well. They wanted Pintrest customer support of all things, and called the first number they saw when googling. I walked over and hung the phone up on them and explained what had happened...

I think its a bit of an illusion caused by the two middle fingers being just in a position where it looks like a single finger with a super long nail?

I don't think the APA is in any way government, it is just a professional organization. Unless you mean that the government institutions that may rely on the opinions of APA and others to implement policy (CMS, HHS, etc) could be hamstrung, absolutely.

Only a bit Yakuza overloaded! Ended up being about 160 hours of Yakuza alone. Definitely feeling ready for a break, probably 10ish hours left in 5. I wanted to get completed on Kiryu's story, play Man Who Erased His Name, and then Infinite Wealth, but those and 6 are going to have to wait now.

Michael Sullivan, being entirely self published doesn't have as much marketing behind him, but great worlds and books!

Sarah Monette/Katherine Addison, got a lot of attention on Goblin Emperor but I love all her work before and after as well.

Not all kindle books have DRM. The listing for the Starter Villain kindle edition specifically says in the description "At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied."

Although now scrolling through, perhaps more accurate to say certain editors at bb have been using AI headers for their posts, others appear not to be at all.
February 26, 2024 at 3:59 PM
boingboing has been doing AI Art headers for nearly every post for a few months now. It started with just AI art mocking Trump and Musk and other major figures, then morphed into almost everything. Also not a fan.

I saw this comment first out of your full thread, and couldn't tell which game in the series you were specifically referring to, as it matches up A LOT of them.

Did you have to fight off random groups of passerby's every 100 feet or so while walking around?

Lenna's Inception - From the folks behind Cassette Beasts. Not my favorite type of game, so I didn't get far in it, but had potential.

Dragon Ball FigherZ - Did a few hours of this. I'm not a 1v1 fighter type gamer, so mostly wanted to see what the big deal was. Seemed fine! Likely won't get backto
