Its not about "gate-keeping" reading, its about what reading is and is not. I can read MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, or I can watch a video of it- are those the same thing?

Its a case of "I want more" and "I'll never have to worry because I have so much"; they can always hire "some poors" to do whatever.

To be fair, I live in LA and miiiiiight've gotten to know the cast/crew fairly well for someone not properly on the show (or related to same)
The joke in question was one I told them both during a benefits walk in the early 2010s; Tricia laughed, Katee blanked... until T leaned over and whispered

While I only had time to do so with the pilot, its the ONE Sci-Fi thing I watched with dad (he was not a fan of the genre, so not gonna try most time) where he was like "yeah, that was pretty good" and he was open to watching more together
