Update on this: my gf was amazing and got me a tube that seems to work pretty well, at least for pictures. Took me a bit to get a picture where I didn't look miserable even though I was feeling pretty good. I say it looks good for pictures because in person what hairs are there still stand out imo.
It's me! Not feeling like flaying myself for once. I'm wearing a blue shirt, there's a white background, lighting makes everything kinda yellowy though.

Picture of an almost random asseblage of water containers on stands. From left to right, a styrofoam cooler on a rolling table cart; a 20 gallon high aquariim on an off-the-shelf stand; a severely aging 125 gallon aquarium on a commercial grade stand, but there's two planks of trex between them. In the background there's all the trappings of a fish store, from fish food and chemicals for aquariums to old commercial style awuarium systems. Unseen in the styrofoam cooler, there is a 16"+ long albino silver arrowana, a long, white and red predatory fish with a trapjaw mouth oriemted for picking prey off the top of the water. In the 20 gallon high, just some plants it's not really important other than being off-the-shelf products jarringly contrasted with stuff that looks like it came from Petsmart displays 20 years ago. In the 125 gallon aquarium there is an assemblage of wood and a 24"+ long clown knife fish, a long, silvery predatory fish also bearing a trapjaw mouth, but the other way around from the arrowana's mouth.

I need to take more pictures of my critters. Louise the leopard frog and a new old shrimp tank given to me by a friend.
A leopard frog named Louise, who is brown with darker brown spots and a touch of green, sitting half submerged in amongst large dark green submerged leaves and tiny floating bright green leaves, plants and wood ride in the background. Small neocaridina shrimp in red, yellow, and orange pick at a piece of food floating at the surface of the water, a mat of moss is growing on the driftwood below them and they're surrounded by the bright green leaves of duckweed floating by them.

Louis, the suspected southern leopard frog
A suspected southern leopard frog pokes its head out of the water, surrounded by floating plants. The plants are rounded leaves of various sizes. Leopard frogs are very frog shaped, having mildly bumpy skin, and in this one's case, a muddy brown color with bright yellow stripes along their upper lip and across its eyes, and small black rings with dark centers on top of its head. Pictured from frog's right side. The same leopard frog, from its left on top of underwater vegetation, much more visible. The yellow lines by its eyes run all the way back to its hips, the dark ring pattern appearing on its side, all down its back, and all over its legs. The same leopard frog, but having climbed high up the background of his enclosure. Vegetation with succulent heart shaped leaves on red stems is visible in the foreground, between camera and frog and all around the frog. This picture is of the frog's back, while it faces the camera. The patterns look different and his skin more bumpy, likely because he's a bit drier in this picture.

And fixing the lack of fish I've seen thus far
A figure 8 pufferfish in home aquarium, pufferfish are oddly shaped fish with prominent teeth shaped like beaks. The one pictured is a small species, gold on top, cream on bottom, with the top bearing a darker worm like pattern and iridescent eyespots. Delhezi bichir, a strange fish often described as prehistoric, in a rubbermaid quarentine tank. Delhezi bichir are a longer grey fish, like most bichir, with a dark grey banding pattern. An albino, longfin oscar cichlid in a very basic home aquarium, for grow out and temporary housing. Oscars are a large bodied freshwater fish, usually black or grey with orange eyespot patterns, though this one is almost exclusively white, with fins far longer than natural varieties. It holds a food pellet in its mouth, and hovers above a pvc wye fitting.
